Family Member of Counseled Children
Ages of Children Counseled - 6 through 12
My experience with Trevor has truly been life-changing—for both myself and my children. From our very first session, I felt genuinely welcomed, heard, and supported. Our counselor is incredibly compassionate and professional, creating a safe space where each of us could open up and work through our challenges without fear of judgment. With his gentle guidance, I have grown in confidence and learned new ways to care for my mental health. Most importantly, I have seen remarkable growth in my children as well. His ability to connect with them, listen to their concerns, and support them through difficult times has made a meaningful difference in their lives. I cannot thank him enough for his kindness, empathy, and unwavering support for our family. I would wholeheartedly recommend him and Steadfast Counseling to anyone seeking thoughtful and dedicated care.

Before coming to counseling, I felt emotionally numb and hopeless, as though I had given up on life. Through working with Trevor, I began to recognize that I still had purpose and something worth living for. What stood out most to me was feeling genuinely cared for and supported, which gave me the motivation to keep moving forward. Trevor consistently acknowledged my progress and celebrated my efforts in ways that felt authentic rather than forced. Even when I experienced relapse, I was not met with judgment or guilt. Instead, I was encouraged to continue pushing forward and to use the experience as an opportunity for growth. This compassionate and nonjudgmental approach has helped me build resilience, maintain hope, and remain committed to my recovery.

My experience with Trevor has been one of self-reflection, improvement, and enlightenment!
I had been “stuck” in my grief and trauma for so long, just going around in circles in my mind. I had connected with a few therapists over the years. Although I liked the individuals who were helping me, I always felt like I was simply meeting someone and telling them about my past—and that was as far as it went. Or I would be told, “You realize it’s not your fault, right?” If I truly knew that, I wouldn’t have been going to therapy!
With Trevor, literally by my second appointment, I had already tried a couple of the things he suggested. Quite honestly, I didn’t think they would do any good, and I told him as much. But it was amazing—I learned more in two visits with him than I had in the past 25 years of counseling! I highly recommend him; there is absolutely no judgment from him.
I’ve noticed that a lot of counselors/therapists are very “textbook.” But Trevor sympathizes and empathizes—he’s not the regular “textbook” type that so many counselors are. Today is my deceased brother’s birthday, which also happens to be the day my daddy passed away. Normally, at this point, I would be totally distraught. But after that second visit, I was able to look at things from a different perspective, and I’m no longer beating myself up as much.
He lets you talk about your problems without interjecting and instead allows you to make your own path and come to your own conclusions in your own time
